She also has vaulted ceilings so gets a 10ft+ tree each year, and has screws in the walls & the beams so she wires her tree to the ceiling and sides and her animals can't bring it down. She had to do this after the first year when it got knocked down constantly and destroyed most of her inherited antique glass ornaments.

But my cats would LOVE the cardboard box one. I know it's tall, but they'd find a way to get into it.

I could keep mine near the tree and turn it on when I see the cat in the general area.

The first year we had the dog, she knocked the tree over. It scared her so much she has stayed away ever since.

Does anyone use that anti-cat spray? Does it harm real evergreen trees?

Cats love to death and eventually destroy all those dangley ribbons and bows. Then the friggin dog eats them.

Each and every one of them could have gotten into that tree that was hanging from the ceiling.
