Happy Hanukkah!

I was in the grocery store here at the beach in NC--a very RED and very "Christian" area--and a produce clerk told me to "have a nice day and Merry Christmas!" I couldn't resist responding by telling him "Happy Hanukkah!"

You should have seen his face. I'm still laughing.

And to all my DU friends who are lighting candles tonight, Happy Hanukkah!

I'm in Space Coast, Florida, and after nine years here, I've just about given up on anyone acknowledging that some humans aren't Christian. But I do have to say that my Goyisch spouse downed about seven latkes tonight!

when I bought more potato latkas (they are really good) and I got the same look. Maybe it was my Christmas ball earrings. Can't people celebrate and/or at least wish each other festive greetings? When I was a teacher we celebrated all holidays. Is it a PC thing?

Christians who refuse to acknowledge that other religions celebrate events during December. They think only Christmas should be celebrated and they resent sharing their holiday with any others in the "Happy Holidays" sentiment.

In their eyes they have been approved by Jesus making them special over anyone who has not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. You see that attitude from fundies like Roy Moore all the time.

Just gave me a funny look like I was spoiling his day . It was the first night of Hanukkah after all.
