Haven't made one in quite some time.
I hope it's seasoned enough. A couple of weeks ago I made an inedible bean soup because I added too much salt. Don't want to make that mistake again.
Also, instead of chuck beef, which cooks low and slow, I used sirloin tips. Can't over-cook those. But I used unsalted beef stock to cook the veg, and a little red wine. Lots of onions, celery, carrots.
Let's hope.
I haven't tried it yet because I'm waiting for my guy to come back from the pharmacy as he picks up his meds.

The local grocery sells 8 oz bottles of wine and I buy them whenever I shop, just to have them on hand to add to recipes. (Makes my scampi amazing.)

(5,969 posts)Especially now during the colder months. The difference to your recipe is that I use beer instead of wine (makes it less sour but both flavours are nice), chicken stock and I add (semi hot) tomato paste.
