The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsUmmmmmmm. Hello?
How does DU look exactly like it did in 2006? (Or at least how I remember it in 2006?)
Any old timers still around?

(25,586 posts)but Im too fucking old to remember if that was pre- or post-2006. I remember I HATED the new look at first, but now every time I hit the old archived site on a search I shudder out how ugly it was. . .

I miss a lot of the old "columnists" like Plaid Adder.
Sad to say, the Top 10 Con Idiots was pithier and funnier.
OTOH I really enjoy TheFerret rants. Those crack me up every time.
Seemed more clubby back then... and fewer trolls trying their best to stir up crap here.

(16,334 posts)newbies come and go and a few stay around a while. Oldies still hang out and nobody seems to try to exclude anybody. New classics like The Door Buzzard are born.
It's nice.

(29,199 posts)one of my favorite posters from San Deigo. Apparently, she went off the rails over some "conspiracy theory" type stuff and got herself suspended which turned into a ban.
I didn't have any opinion about the controversy but she had been one of my favorite posters before that happened.

(205,235 posts)I've been here since DU.1 - January 2003!
We moved to DU.3 in December of 2011. I never thought I'd get used to it! But then I felt the same way about DU.2!
And here's DU.2:

(9,899 posts)Not that much different, other than the ability to easily post pictures, and videos.
Though it has been a while, I remember this place was much more bulletin board, then multi-media.

2004 here. A few people you may remember have passed on. Have you checked out the In Memoriam page at the bottom?
