...Lewis Library.

Regrettably some precious and rare maps were damaged when the building - a Frank Gehry contraption - had a pipe break causing flooding.

My son, the artist, and I disagree about this building - an art vs. engineering argument - where, as it happens, I am writing today.

After a couple of years of complaining about the Lewis library - where I worked in the dark spaces - I discovered the upper areas where it is pleasant to work.

But art at the expense of function is not a good thing in architecture, I think.

Anyway to return to the subject. Thanks for this note. I'll try to find a way to go there.

Atlas Obscura is a very good website. Their 31 Days of Halloween series is an annual treat.

I live here and I didn't know about it. I love maps and I am a big geography buff. I will definitely check it out!

Thanks for posting!
