(322 posts)First song on their first LP I believe.
It's a straight forward rocker full of joy just like I like 'em.

(17,287 posts)Bartender says...hey! I like the Grateful Dead too. They play that song...what is it...Truckin'...that's it...Truckin. I like that song. What's your favorite Grateful Dead song?
The horse got a thoughtful look and stared into space for a full minute.
Finally, the bartender says...well, what's your favorite Grateful Dead song?
The horse continues to think.
After another minute, the bartender says...WELL?
Finally, the horse says...Well, I'm really partial to the China/Rider transition jam from Rhode Island on 6/26/74, but only when I can listen to it on a pair of bitchin' speakers that can sustain Phil's bass levels when I max him out on the equalizer and I can get Bobby's guitar just right in the mix so it sounds kind of like a "jangly" shuffle that is the perfect counterpoint to Jerry's high end.

(39,343 posts)Like the one time they did Not Fade Away into GDTRFB back into Not Fade Away and the crowd kept clapping and signing for minutes after the band left.
But I guess Bertha or GDTRFB or Scarlet Begonias or a good Dark Star or.....

(4,138 posts)Boringly conventional, I know. But that's one of those songs that sounds like it wasn't so much written, as just having always been there, waiting for someone to find it.
