Her coffee is usually strong enough to jumpstart a corpse, so never drink it if you're already wired from something else..

Prior to this advent (and certainly since) I was never all that impressed with German coffee. It was pretty much the same in France with the exception of the French tended to prefer darker roasts.

There always seemed to be a lot of tea drinkers in Germany. I do a bit of tea, but it's not really my thing so I have no idea how Germany rates on the tea scale.

Matter of fact, in the one dive bar where my Munchen acquaintance and I were told to speak Deutsch only (?!), it was very smoky in there.

That was the old East German airport for Berlin. I've heard it is somewhat more primitive than Tegel. At any rate, you will LOVE Kastrup airport in København. Optically beautiful, though the only thing cheap there is a flight to somewhere else. Hope you remembered to take the train into town! About $15 versus $60 or so for a taxi!

At least the older cab driver and I had a nice chat about his father's work with the Danish resistance in WW2. He also disliked Trump, so extra points!

Froze my thin blooded Florida ass off trying to get a cab, hands were actually hurting.

Ate at Cafe Ankara down the street, nice steak dinner. Now to get thorough directions to the train station!

Pretty much down the Vesterbrogade (have the hotel point you in the right direction) and then hang a right.

The most underrated city in all of Europe. Paris, Rome, and London are all over-priced tourist traps.

Only two so far have been neutral or positive towards him: the first was a German oil and gas investor who only looked at our economy, and the second was a front desk clerk who I'm convinced was not apprised of the facts. All other Germans, Danes and Swedes were all negative, thank God.

OK you're still here. I've been all over the world on flights and getting your checked luggage is usually a brain-dead easy procedure: you get off your plane, follow the signs to "Baggage Pick up" or words to that effect, and you're all good. Easy peasy lemon squeezey, done it from Australia to China to Norway to Cairo.

Just got in from Copenhagen to Berlin. I've already picked up my luggage once from Tegel, so it's not like this is my first time. EasyJet made us take a short shuttle bus ride from the airplane to the terminal. When we got off the shuttle, NO SIGNS indicating a deviation from usual procedure. I walk inside and look all over the f****** place. No visible baggage claim. I am finally told to go to the Baggage Service, where I wait now for my one bag. Yes first world problem but still annoying as F*******
