What I don't like is that it looks like the writers are setting it up so that Negan gets a chance to redeem himself to fulfill Carl's dream of a Kumbaya truce. Two ways to do it: 1) Find someone else for comparison to show what a really vengeful person is like. i.e. vengeful killing with no Big Plan; 2) Provide more backstory to show why Negan feels like killing a few of your friends is the best way to get you on his survival plan.

Personally, I'm in the "No Redemption for Negan" Camp.
