I didn't have any questions for you last night, but wanted to let you know that I'm recovering from the cat bites. The skin is still tender, but it doesn't like they will need to amputate my hand or get treated for rabies. I've been draining the icky looking pus from the wounds for the last few days (I didn't pop anything).

The cat that got hold of me finally showed up after the fourth day and begged for forgiveness, so he is camping out on the floor taking a nap.

BTW, there is no such thing as "too much vodka" although I prefer herbal medicine.

It's not a terribly nasty bacterium, but still one you should be evaluated and treated for.

Hard to be a functional alcoholic in what we do...

Hope you are well! If you ever decide to turn to the dark side and be a surgical PA, let me know! Could use some help, especially someone who would put up with my liberal ranting, lol!!

But my hands shake a little bit. I can do the best I&D's, laceration suturing, and lipoma and ingrown toenail excisions you've ever seen.

But more than that, I just don't trust my hands to do what I want them to do.

Still, I'd really enjoy joining you in your liberal rants.

I've noticed that surgeons tend to be a rather right-wing lot; we could drive them a little crazy...

Some of the most outlandish shit I’ve ever heard politically has been uttered by fellow surgeons...I mean really talented people who happen to be RW zealots....it’s the bane of my existence but it is what it is.

I'm glad you're feeling better and sorry that you had to get through the under the weather part first!

Good St. Patrick's Day evening to you!
