(4,483 posts)when I was growing up in WV--there was a newspaper back then ( The West Virginia Hillbilly--Jim Comstock wrote it)--well, it was really more like a magazine in newspaper format--that sent out an issue with ramp juice in the ink. Then as an adult I have eaten them in NJ, and they are quite nice, kind of mild scallion or even leek flavor, and no offensive odor that I could detect.

The less odorous ones just had to sit the hall..
