Today would have been my 28th wedding anniversary with my ex-wife

She and I only lasted the cliche 7 years before divorcing, but we were tied together by a lovely daughter who was 2 and a half when we separated and 3 when divorce was final.

I married less than a year later to my current wife who will soon celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary with later this year.

Why do I write all of this? I donít mean to remember that anniversary, but similar to the anniversary of my motherís and twin sisterís deathís, I always have subconscious reactions to the date as it looms.

1. I know-- that 7 years

My h and I hit that awful year too.
Almost ended it, but didn't. (I'm stubborn.)
It is very hard to love. Hugs, blake2012. I like to think that loving is worth the loss of it too.
And I'm glad you got to use your skill at loving again!happy anniversary!

3. Here! Here! And the same here. I had a 6 and 7 year old when

I divorced my 1st wife of 11 years. It's funny but 7 years is when things started going south for us. I am now married to the love if my life for 31 years. When we were married my father was on his death bed and could not see us get married. So our anniversary is beautiful and bittersweet.

4. In a week, I would have been married to my wife for 45 years

But she died last January. She was wise, loving, sexy and very strong. She took a psychological wreck and made me into a human being. I miss you, Suzanne.

5. My first marriage lasted 7 years, too,

and I always said at least I was smart enough not to have kids with him so I wouldn't have to stay in touch. I was divorced for 5 years before I remarried and last November I separated from my husband of 32 years. I did have two boys with him and now neither one of them will speak to me.

I had to look up the day of my first marriage to give it to my attorney. I knew it was September something! And I expect I'll be a mess when the May anniversary of what would have been 33 years rolls around. That was a really tough decision, but one I should have made years ago.

Remembering loss is an emotionally difficult thing to do.
