I signed up for the Hulu free trial, tried binge watching "The Handmaid's Tale", (spoiler)

couldn't do it. After about 2.5 episodes I felt like I was getting the beginnings of PTSD, so I had to intersperse it with episodes of "Young Sheldon." I've gotten as far as the site of the Boston Globe massacre scene. What a harrowing series, but it's brilliant. I think I'll have to sign up.

It is in Swedish with English subtitles. It is Nordic Noir at its finest.

of The Mindy Project. I never really watched it before. I loved it, even though I'm not exactly its demographic. I'm 61 and I think it's geared towards mid-30s and under. I felt much better.

but I loved her from The Office and have a little crush on her still so I'm not sure if I'm her demographic but I love her humor. I bet if I went and ranked favorite episodes of the Office I would find a lot of them were the ones she directed.

Chris Messina = hubba hubba. TMP was the first time I really noticed him, but now I've gone back and watched a lot of his work.

Newsroom and 6 Feet Under were great shows. He's one of those guys I kept seeing in things and thought "Hey, I know that guy..." so I'd go look him up and realize he's been in stuff I like. But The Mindy Project cemented him as his own guy for me. An actor I look for rather than one I just notice.

I did the free month of (streaming) Netflix and then quit.

I didn't find that many movies I wanted to watch,
and some I wanted was only available via DVD.

and also watching other TV shows. Rarely ever watch a movie on it although I would if they had one I was interested in.

But they get tons of TV shows I like - especially the Marvel comics stuff

My only complaint, is unlike regular broadcast channels, who generally have a season of a series once a year, some of the original programming can go for longer than a year before the next season comes out.

Netflix actually has more movies than Hulu. Hulu is a great place for classic series & foreign television series, but movies? Not so much. If you enjoy foreign movies, then you'd like the foreign series, most in the native language with English subtitles. There's a lot of quality worldwide television out there, so I think it's worth the $11.99/month. I signed up for the deluxe, no ads package because ads just drive me nuts. I pay $4 more per month, but it's worth it to me.

My wife and I decided to give it a go. After 2 episodes I told her, "it's all yours Hon. I just can't."
we work opposite schedules so we both have our own shows we watch and some we prefer to watch together.
But yea, Handmaids Tale. I just couldn't do it. And not to take way from thw writing, production etc. Just too fucking depressing for me.

As for streaming services for the others, we have netflix, hulu, prime and just added on HBO Now.

We like Hulu for the live tv choices, but they really need to up their streaming game. It does(for us anyway) tend to freeze, usually when a show is going into commercial, and you have to hit return or something and kick it in the ass so to speak.
Besides that, we get live sports including NHL, Formula 1, Gold, Basketball, football, NCAA sports. And they do have a decent library of old and new series.

And since adding HBO, fuggedaboutit...John Oliver, Bill Mahar, Veep, Silicon Valley, Westworld etc and tons of movies
