Oh Jimminy! I usually have to travel to eagle watch...
Today, however, I walked out on the deck this morning and saw this... I think he's eyeing my neighbors chickens.. sigh.. (don't tell my neighbor, I hope he gets one)

1. Nice capture.
I enjoy watching them fish at the dam here. They swoop in, glide over the water, quick head dive, and up they go.

5. About 100 yds my husband says.
I’m not good at distance.
I used a zoom on my Canon Pro-shot. |

6. Better still for its own safety, buy some chickens of your own
and put them out in the open as far from your neighbors as possible. Less chance your neighbor will try to kill this magnificent bird of prey.

7. Not this particular neighbor...
They just believe in free range chickens. Even if that range seems to include our yard and bird feed.
It’s my other neighbor with five roaming cats who is more dangerous to this neighborhood. Always after the others chickens and my song birds. That eagle could carry away one of those cats and I’d look the other way. |

A nest in Iowa. Right now there's 3 eaglets in the next. We check in every day. |
