Took my dad's glasses into the optometrists to have them fixed. He didn't buy them there.

The tech fixed them for free. Then i asked if they could compare my mom's prescription to mine that was tested there last year. I wear my mom's glasses and have since she died. She did. It took her a little longer than I thought it would. Took the glasses home when I noticed she had replaced one of the nose pads. Again for free. She had noticed it broken in the shop and I had said not to worry about it. Above and beyond. What great goodwill they have from me now.

in Bandon Oregon a few years ago. No charge for the fix there, wouldn't accept a tip either. Vacation saved, I really need my glasses.

From glasses repair to plugging your tire. I have a buddy that goes in and gets his oil topped off for free about every 2 weeks lol

The secret is to bring your favorite family members out and they end up wanting to move here too. I would say 80% of the Midwesterners move here after visiting once. I just never left after helping a friend move lol

I believe most doctors personally believe in helping people beyond profit, but the company they hire to run the business end are greedy sharks. That's something of a conflict, but it's become common, especially seen with veterinarian clinics. That's great you found a good one.

It's like a rock star that hires a business manager who takes a big cut of the $300 seat for a concert centered on championing the plight of the working class. The artist means well, but private jet!

at various shops and it's always been a free service. It really doesn't take them very long and builds good will. If you can't make money, make friends.

Even Walmart. Seems to part and parcel of the industry. Good will for all of them.
