Woman shitcanned for bringing laxative-laced brownies to party!

SALINE, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan engineering company employee has been fired after police determined she baked laxatives into brownies intended for a departing colleague’s send-off.

Saline police Chief Jerrod Hart says officers confiscated the tainted confections May 3 after another employee tipped off management. No one ate the brownies.

The Ann Arbor News reports that Hart says the 47-year-old woman initially denied putting laxatives in the brownies, but after learning investigators would test them she admitted she had. Her name hasn’t been released.

Other employees told police there may have been tension between the woman and the departing employee, but specifics haven’t been released.

8. Actually it might be good for her that she told someone.

Since nobody ate the brownies, she didn't get criminally charged. If people ate them, got sick, and figured what was responsible, she could have been criminally charged.

7. Sounds like someone has read "The Lords of Discipline."

Pat Conroy's brilliant novel depicting a South Carolina military academy came out in 1980.

The tradition is that the upper classmen beat the newbies into submission, and they are expected to undergo a process of humiliation, resistance, and finally transformation into the tormentors that once terrorized them. In the first year, in the home of a local classmate, some freshmen bake a big pan of chocolate fudge that is 75% Ex-Lax. They are deliberately careless in trying to smuggle it onto campus with the intention of having it "confiscated" by the upper classmen. This does indeed happen, as planned, ovr the "protests" of the newly robbed underclassmen. Then, after curfew, some of the freshmen wire the entrances to the toilets shut with barbed wire and put pieces of broken bottles at the entrances. The upper classmen end up the night crapping their guts out on top of garbage cans with wounded feet because their urge to get to the bathroom was so immediate, they ran out of their rooms barefoot.

It actually was a very powerful book, but that one scene had me laughing in hysterics. My wife wondered if the house had suddenly been flooded with nitrous oxide.

It sounds like the Michigan woman took a chapter right out of Conroy's book.
