About 20 years ago I dropped a threaded needle as I picked up a phone call and my cat grabbed it ran under the bed where it disappeared. The next morning I took the kitteh to the vet for X-rays to verify my suspicions and there it was right in her colon. The vet did surgery later that day; the needle was still threaded. That was pricey mistake and I felt so bad for my sweet girl.

When you're in a needlework class. Or waving over a chair when you drop your needle in it.
