No one likes to be intentionally mislead. But that is exactly what IHOP did with this latest ad campaign. Are they changing their name to IHOB? Yes, but it's only temporary.
It matters not to me, but to others, it might.
And, in the end, I suppose the marketing did what it was meant to do....get people talking about a chain that is seldom talked about.

(70,494 posts)CADDELL was the pre-ROVE Rove for Jimmy CARTER, for years now a Faux Propaganda Network 'winger. After CARTER, he became a bitter jerk and worked on a bunch of losing campaigns, including for the New Coke. No connection to IHOP, but the bum idea reminds me of him.
That said, I agree with O.P. on everything, "matters not to me" and "backlash" coming.
Burgers?!1 Why feature that instead of the item they made their own?
