Huge Cat, Weighing 29 Pounds, Shows Up As Stray At Animal Shelter

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/huge-cat-shelter-california-pasadena_us_5b22a379e4b07cb1712c7208

A California animal shelter is trying to find the owners — or, if they can’t be found, a new home — for an extra-large, fluffy cat who was found wandering the streets.

“HUGE CAT ALERT,” wrote The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA on Twitter Thursday. The accompanying photo of the big, blue-eyed cat staring into the camera has since gone viral.

“As millions of Americans hit the gym on the quest for the perfect summer body, a 29lb cat began an exercise regimen of his own,” the organization wrote on Facebook. “Earlier this week, the 10-year-old Himalayan mix took himself for an afternoon walk down a busy Altadena street. Luckily, he was found by a good Samaritan who lugged him to the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA for care.”

He weighed about twenty pounds - but was not fat, just huge. With all that fur he looked even bigger and if he fuzzed up when mad he was HUGE!

The problem was he was not the cat to worry about - my little ten pound cat (weight as an adult) beat the big one up from the day he arrived weighing four ounces. The little cat terrorized the big one until the big one died. He is why we have not gotten another kitten - he'd probably kill a cat smaller than he is.

The little one is now seventeen years old. Once he's gone we'll adopt a couple of cats that will get along.

Unless they let him go due to expenses of food. He is so adorable. He will find a home quickly when his holding period ends.

Chubbs Update: Several possible owners have stepped forward to claim Chubbs. To thoroughly investigate these claims, we have decided to delay his adoption date. Please continue to check our website and social media for his new adoption date: http://pasadenahumane.org

I thought for sure he had escaped his home and he would be reunited with his humans. But I guess not. Just glad he found a loving family.
