When I was a kid

I truly believed that every "Dead End" sign led to a sheer and abrupt cliff, several hundred feet above a jagged canyon, like in a Road Runner cartoon.

It's a wonder I survived.

So I thought it meant the Grim Reaper/Dante's Inferno/horror show/ or something really bad.

I guess I didn't watch enough Road Runner cartoons to enlighten me.

......I thought the Speed Limit 45 MPH sign, was saying it was 45 miles to the Town of Speed Limit. Then I got really confused when Speed Limit went from 45 to 20. What?? Did we drive right past it?!
