Every kid back in 1970 knew that these were all blatant references to marijuana.
But there's no doubt in my mind that the Krofft Brothers were also tripping balls on LSD.

(7,725 posts)This was a great old show when the sat morning childrens line up would have 5 or 6 new shows every school season. The Tv Guide would roll out the scheduling, and it made going back to school a little easier to take.
Others being
Scooby Doo
Land of the Lost
and a long list of others that escape me now. Good Tv for kids. Better days.

(796 posts)rolling out the new season, showing the added shows and which ones were coming back. It was right when school would go back.
I watched saturday mornings up through Pee Wee's Playhouse, which was truly at the end of saturday AM shows that weren't just commercials. At least until Nikelodeon upped the game in the 90's. Rugrats was one of the best shows ever. And I was approaching 30.
The other good Krofft shows were Lidsville and the Bugaloos. Lidsville was truly bizarre and starred Charles Nelson Reilly, so you know it was quality!

That show, despite the ridiculously low budget, was actually quite good. I seem to recall that Dorothy Fontana (of Star Trek fame) was one of the story editors.

Sort of like the '60s show The Prisoner, except punctuated by ads for toys and sugary cereals.

Their old studio in Burbank is now a bakery. (Across the street from where I sometimes get lunch.)
