With global warming, the waters off Long Nook beach, traditionally too cold for great whites, are now quite accommodating to their favorite food (seals) and now them. Suddenly signs are being put up at beach entrances warning swimmers (that's us) to avoid seals (difficult, as they swim up right next to us), as there could be a great white shark chasing them right behind. This morning, while we were in the water about ten large seals swam by, some as close as four feet away.

I'm fairly confident I can tell the difference between seaweed touching my foot and a shark biting it off, though 100% certainty from experience is not something I strive for.
