A new movie about Freddie Mercury is coming out. What other rock stars should get their own film?

And who would you cast as the lead?

Would love to see a Prince or David Bowie movie, but I can't think of known actors that could play either of them.

--On Edit--

Tilda Swinton as Bowie:

BTW, here's the trailer for the Queen movie. Looks good, but I am reserving judgment:

I know that they've been trying to make it happen, but the projects keep falling apart. At one time a film was going to be made starring Pink, and I know Amy Adams has been trying to get one together too.

I'm looking forward to Bohemian Rhapsody. Brian May is very happy with the job Rami Malek did as Freddie.

I don't mind having a post Freddie denouement, but there's only so much you can squeeze into a 2 hour film. To restrict the Freddie years to 1 hour would just be stupid.

I see the physical resemblance, but I'm not sorry that deal fell through. It seems that SBC really wanted to get into Freddie's lifestyle - drug use, promiscuity, etc. So I can see why they parted ways.

One of the few British artists of the era who didn’t really catch on here (except his one hit). Interesting guy, tragic young death, music that we Yanks don’t know but would like.

Awesome singer and songwriter. Short life with so many tragedies - death of his wife in a motorcycle accident, death of 2 of his kids in a fire. I think there’s generations now that don’t know his music, a biopic would be a great way to bring it back.

Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk by Legs McNeil & Gillian McCain

Please Kill Me is the definitive oral history of the most nihilistic of all pop movements. Iggy Pop, Richard Hell, the Ramones, and scores of other punk figures lend their voices to this decisive account of that explosive era.

who picked up the electric guitar in the 1940s way ahead of almost everyone. Fascinating life story, too.
