(14,624 posts)I used to volunteer at a zoo on weekends and was lucky enough to be assigned (okay, I pestered them) on the team that cared for the tigers and lions. Our team also had the zebras, bongos and rhinos, but the tigers were my favorite.
We weren't allowed in the enclosures (and I wouldn't have gone in if allowed!), but we got to see them in their dens/cages. When the keeper wasn't around, I would stick my hand through the bars, as the tiger was walking away so she couldn't bite me, and pet her fur. I loved the chuffing sound she made!
Our zoo had two sister Siberian Tigers at the time. I think they died around 2010.
Gorgeous creatures!

(21,946 posts)I had to use Google image search to figure out where the photo of the Seine was taken. I kind of thought it was Paris and the Seine, but didn't see the Eiffel Tower anywhere, so I wasn't sure. When I googled I found that it was the view FROM the Eiffel Tower.
I would have liked some descriptions (locations) of some of the others.

(63,221 posts)I have such a terror of heights. I can't believe anyone would willingly subject themselves to this. The guy in the forefront looks like he is about to tumble out of his hammock at any moment.

(53,410 posts)It reminds me that I love this planet. Why would anyone want to just have vanilla when all those fantastic flavors are out there!?
