Fire alarms are such a source of danger & aggravation & are so difficult when you work at a multi-story hospital. It's so difficult to carry non-ambulatory patients downstairs with sheets, it's really slow going, and blocks the stairs so ambulatory staff and patients can't get down. It's not unusual for the staff to end up with injuries from carrying people. So yeah, get rid of the rat, one way or the other.
