In addition to the ingredients you list, I add lemon juice and tahini (sesame seed butter). I also use garlic cloves instead of garlic salt. Mine isn't that smooth either, but I don't care.

We had middle-eastern food catered today at work - chicken shawarma, hummus, tabbouleh, falafel, rice, greek salad, pita and various sauces. It was delicious!

One of my favorite ethnic cuisines.

I make my own as well... use pressure cooker to cook garbanzos; but can't make it w/o tahini

I just started making my own almond milk and made hummus with the almond pulp (lots of smoked paprika)... yum too!

And the amount of garlic. Lots of garlic.

We have a global market nearby that offers 9 brands of tahini. And Goya premium garbanzos.
