The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsOne really good thing about being old, if you're a woman.
You don't have to deal with as much sexual harassment as you did in your younger days.
Behaviors including, but not limited to:
Strange men telling you to smile.
Strange men telling you to take off your glasses.
Cat calls.
Strange men groping you.
Men grabbing you and giving you sloppy, disgusting kisses. Just out of the blue, like a sucker punch.
Men hitting on you.
***I am NOT saying these things NEVER happen to older women, but not near as much. And I'm aware that being elderly is no guarantee you're not gonna be raped.
And as an older woman, you still have to be cautious about where you go alone. And other stuff. But I guess we should be grateful some of the harassment slacks off.

I guess it's better than what we had to endure in our younger days.

Now, I have no desire to go to a bar, but bet I would be left alone now, as I have acquired a 'kavanaugh' scowl

I'm so pissed off right now that I'm tempted to go punch some random guy in the crotch, just because. I won't, of course, because I'm just a nice, invisible old lady who lives quietly with cats, contemplating the overthrow of the patriarchy.
