My puppy's first snow!

My sister from Tallahassee is visiting and she is a wonderful photographer. She wanted to see some snow and she got it the day after she arrived!

6. I wanted to get a photo of both my dogs frolicking...

But they were moving around too much to get a good shot. They had a blast.

5. That day is coming for my pup.

She's 18 months old but her former owners lived in the deep south so she's going to see snow for the first time whenever it shows up around these parts.

8. Great Lakes area.

It went from 85 to 40 in a matter of days, so snow can't be far off. Ugh.

9. Oh man, you get the wind, too then.

That can be brutal. Plus, at least it's a drier cold here in Colorado. I'm at about 6,000 ft. Hope you have a furry puppy or you're going to need to get it a coat for up there.

16. She's furry but I have lots of coats from the last one.

What really kills is the snow on curly legs and paws. It gets embedded and takes about 20 minutes to melt after getting inside. Our last one was great about wearing boots but this one is giving me more trouble. Getting ready for walks looks like its going to be a long ordeal this winter. Good thing she's so freaking cute.

11. She is a sweetie.

The vet suspects a border collie/lab mix. My older dog adores her and they love to rough-house and take naps together. So much fun to watch them.

My Snowy is jealous. She loves it when we get snow--which isn't often--here in NC.

17. She's a mix. Rescue dog.

I was told part Golden Retriever and part American Eskimo (Spitz). Here she is after a snow a couple of years ago.

18. Mine Hates Snow

The dog before him used to love to bend his head down and use his snout for a mini-plow.

Our doggie now ain't into the snow at all. Goes out, does his business and wants back in.

Same kind of dog. Same owners. Totally different attitudes about the great outdoors. This one wants to know what's so great about outdoors!

My doggie best friend is one of the 3 kitties. They are together 23 hours a day.
