(86,536 posts)I saw that I was so I hurried to get that first comment in!
Now I need a nap so I can get up and have coffee. It's my morning incentive, it's like my dessert in the morning, after that, I can face nearly anything.

(205,202 posts)And that's what happened - I was third.
I can also identify. I was a psych major in college and I used coffee as positive reinforcement to make it to early classes.

(205,202 posts)But one required class for my major was Experimental Psych - "Rats" - which was also at 8am! I put it off till senior year when it was held at 8:30... I rewarded myself with coffee when I made it on time. The other positive thing was that I kept my rat.

(86,536 posts)I was in my mid 30s and already had a well established relationship with coffee. It most certainly contributed to my academic success, I sued M&Ms during exams for the gratification that I needed most and as a memory cue... I would munch on certain colors during lectures and when taking notes. Looking at the candies on the desk while contemplating answers to tough exam questions could trigger the answers. I'd answer the question and eat the candy! Made exams more enjoyable and kept my blood sugar up to avoid fatigue. They let us have little munchies, nothing messy or disrupting.

(15,805 posts)And thats from the video for their song take on me. Pretty much a one hit wonder band but this song was well known at least.
And the cartoon guy is from The Simpsons and thats what he says all the time. I forget his character name. Nelson?

(65,328 posts)I've heard of the band but I've never seen the video. And I don't watch the Simpsons. So I didn't get it either.
I do love the song, though.

(5,733 posts)But the video was absolutely fantastic! I had never seen it, although I remember the song very well.

My favorite this Sunday is the duck with the babies on its back. Soooooooo sweet!

(3,424 posts)They look to me as though they are dressed ready for a black tie affair. I just love them.
They can dive very deep in water and I think they are found in Minnesota a lot?

(4,079 posts)I just found the image so stunning. It almost looks like a black and white photograph until you see the red eyes. And then the babies kind of peak out of hiding in the image, just as I imagine they would in real life.

(3,322 posts)This weeks edition is wonderful! The weekly journals you post, ease the existential turmoil that I encounter daily, since the 2016 election. Reminding me that there is so much beauty all around, goodness to appreciate, embrace, hope in walking together, laughter and joy to share. They are always good, but this weeks " LoL Cats" , is at a whole new level.
