It was well cooked, but I don't think I'll ever make it again.

Someday, I will try that yogurt setting though.

...but somehow, the finished product is just "meh".

Of course, that first one with the Mexican casserole might have something to do with the fact that I made Chicken Tortilla Soup two days earlier and my taste buds were like "Didn't we just have this?"

that peel like a dream! I gave into the hype too and am glad I did. Love that I can brown meat, pressure cook and delay start slow cook. Game changer in my house. Hope your chicken is great. 🙂

Perfect every time. No green edge. No difficult peeling. Perfect yolk & perfect white. They're perfect for making deviled eggs. 1950's hostesses would be the envy of the neighborhood with these eggs!

We make 8-10 every week and keep them in the fridge for the week. Smash 'em, nuke 'em, add butter/salt/pepper to have with toast, or slice them and add to salads. Or make egg salad.

Jeez, I sound like a commercial. Anyway, no more burned fingers and ragged whites while peeling boiled eggs. Must be the steam.

BTW, we're having pork chops in mushroom gravy tonight, thanks to the IP.

My reason was more for the fact that I have really scary memories of my grandmother using the old school pressure cooker for all sorts of things and waiting for the whole house to explode.

This seems a bit less like having a rogue steam engine in the house.

The gasket blew out, and that explosive sound was followed by hissing/whooshing steam noise. The whole pot was scooting all around the stove top, looking like a rocket that failed to launch. I GTFO until pressure equalized, then commenced cleaning up helluva mess from floor to ceiling.

My sister cooked a whole chicken in hers last week and said it was the best chicken she’s ever made (she’s been cooking for many years and has tried many ways of cooking chicken! 😀

I did a whole chicken for soup over the weekend and chicken was incredible - flavorful and moist.

Pressure cookers scare me; I remember the old one my mom had with the thing on top that would rattle violently and whistle. One of these days I'll get up my nerve and cook something.

You'll see how to use it and learn what to expect as it operates. These are nothing like the old ones, they have layers of safety mechanisms built in. I use mine all the time - tons of recipes on youtube and the internet in general. One of the best things I've ever bought.

I'm not into cooking, but that sounds like something I might use. It's so popular, I haven't been able to figure out why. But if you can throw stuff in, set it and forget it, and it cooks quickly...I can see why it would be popular.

Is it fast? Like a pressure cooker? What's the attraction about the Instant Pots? I see them on sale all the time. There's a local group here that meets in the park to do outdoor cooking with their instant pots.

For the most part, I think of it as a pressure cooker, but you can also saute in it, use it as a slow cooker, a steamer, a rice cooker.

It takes a while to come up to pressure, but being able to set a timer on how long it does the pressure without clock watching is a plus.

I've barely scratched the surface of this thing yet. Apparently I can make a cheesecake in it or yogurt also.
