and sabotage.

Reagan's campaign manager, William Casey, devised two treasonous actions:

1) He had CIA officer Donald Gregg, who worked at the White House, steal President Jimmy Carter's top secret "Briefing Papers" (for 2nd debate w/Reagan), copy them, then Casey had George Will use the stolen briefing papers to "coach" Reagan before the 2nd Presidential Debate, so that Reagan knew in advance what President Carter was going to say. [Google: "Debate-Gate"]

2) Casey arranged a secret meeting with top Iranian officials in Paris to ask them to NOT release the American hostages in Iran (Iran was planning on doing so)
because Casey know that if the hostages were released prior to the 1980 election, Carter would get credit.
Casey allegedly told the Iranians that if they waited to release the hostages until after Reagan became president, the U.S. would sell high-tech weapons to them, which they wanted for their war with Iraq.

Jimmy Carter was sabotaged out of a second term by Reagan's campaign,
Casey, Donald Gregg, and George Will all should have been indicted, tried and convicted of sabotage and treason.
