I saw that twilight zone where the girl went through the wall behind her bed into another dimension. That was real?!? Did the dog come back?

It does explain how things do seem to disappear behind my sofa.

He had cataracts for the last few years of his life. In 2014 I put my house up for sale, later took it off the market because I did not think he could not negotiate a new environment. It wasn't worth the money to me to sell and move. By that time he was pretty much blind. He was able to navigate the home he was familiar with by smell, touch and sound.

I understand your attempt at humor. I get it. But to me it is in bad taste. It certainly isn't creative or funny. That is the most civil response I can muster to a horrible OP.

Kind of mean of those people to not walk the dog to the spot where the couch was. Or put a pillow there.

But on the dogs part, pretty smart how he learned just how many steps to the couch.

She was blind and almost completely deaf.

What I find most amazing about such dogs is they overcome their handicaps and go through life seemingly unaware of what they are missing. I think we can appreciate what makes them special.

And it's mean of the owner not to have tried to make the dog understand that the couch was no longer there.

Our canine and feline companions all deserve better.

Especially when they go degeneratively blind. They have an amazing ability to adapt and you don’t really notice or may not even know until you move something.
