Just got back from seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Marshall Tucker Band...

...Holy crap! That arena was whiter than a Trump rally. Suffice it to say, the MAGA was strong with that crowd. My father enjoyed himself, which was the point. Personally, I would have rather seen The Psychedelic Furs, who were playing about 5 blocks away.

i was really only there to hear this song. I've never really been a member of "Skynyrd Nation". Which I never even knew existed until tonight.

Those bands are hollowed out shells of their former selves. They are just cover bands now.
And they espouse rightwing Trumpism.

I saw Marshall Tucker in 1975.They were amazing.
Toy and Tommy Caldwell were the heart of that band, may they both rest in peace.

But the current incarnation is very much on the MAGA team. I know some longtime fans who are pretty upset at how right-wing they've become.

I'm a southerner and Watergate bothered me plenty.

They have claimed that this was parody, but I agree with you, I never listened to them.
In addition to the politics, they could never come close musically to the Allman Brothers

seen. They'd get to the point where you thought their song was over, and then they'd take off on another whole new segment. They were stupendous.

Elvin Bishop's band came on and they all went into a long series of jams together.

I've been to lots of concerts, but none grabbed me and took me along better than that one.
