We know!
Down in San Antonio, they sometimes have to explain to the kids what the cold white stuff is that's falling from the sky. It's SO tempting to say "oobleck" but isn't green enough.

some southerners ran outside and tried to make snow angels in snow that was barely even sticking, lol.

(52,178 posts)2. that's good advice and as a midwesterner who saw an ice storm in austin, much needed.
when i first moved to austin they had a rare ice storm. there were over 500 separate car accidents in one day.
of course, even better advice on driving in such weather is, just don't. especially in the south. far too many other drivers who are unfamiliar with driving in such conditions and are therefore dangerous to you even if you do know how to handle it.
