If you've been wanting to try it, this is a hell of a deal.

(905 posts)I stream it through my Xbox on my tv. Full price is only $5.95 which is still a good deal.

(18,837 posts)I pay the $13 a month ($11.99 with tax added) for the "no commercials" service. It's all about perceived value. If I got a deep discount on something I hated, it wouldn't really be a discount at all. I hate ads. I hate commercials. I pay more and don't have any. That, to me, is a good deal. Same for Spotify. Every once in a while they run their $9.95 for three months promo (it's available now), so I get the three months, cancel at the end, and wait for them to run the promo again. Can't handle their "ads" version of that, either.

(16,377 posts)I am livid they have commercials in movie theaters now. We've been arriving late to avoid having to sit through the ads.

(38,311 posts)Our television plays DVDs, video cassettes, and Netflix. That's all it does. No cable, no satellite, no broadcast.
I've long lost any tolerance I once had for television commercials.
Hulu's "ad-free" option seems to be $11.99 a month but we haven't run out of things to watch on Netflix yet.
It's interesting watching the television industry trying to adapt to the internet.
My parents and my wife's parents still watch traditional cable television but it's a complete mystery to their grandchildren.

(6,622 posts)I dont use Hulu often, but had been paying the $7.95/month forever. You motivated me to close that account. Oh, and a friend signed up for the $.99 rate at the same time.
Thank you!
