▪️Favorite day of the week - any day. I no longer work so the days are pretty much the same. Oh, I do like it that my local theater chain offers half price on popcorn on Tuesdays, so that is the day I usually go to the movies.
▪️Favorite flower -anything that blooms. Other than that, lilacs. I adore them adore how they smell. Alas, if you cut them off the lilac bush they don't last very long.
▪️Tattoos – 0
▪️Piercings – ears only. One hole each ear.
▪️Like to cook -YES. And, when I share a recipe, I include all of the little secrets. I truly despise those who will share a recipe but leave out some ingredient. If you don't want to share, then don't. Do not play stupid games about your recipes.
▪️Favorite color - no one color, but I like shades, not primary colors. Shades of green, shades of yellow, shades of blue, and so on
▪️Gold or silver -do I really have to choose? I have a lot of jewelry, some gold, some silver.
▪️Do you like vegetables? yes. In the summer I like to saute a veggie mix (onion, sliced carrot, snow pea pods, red bell pepper, and zucchini) to serve with things like grilled pork chops or Grecian chicken (cut boneless chicken breast into appropriate sized pieces. Marinate in [and the order you put these on the chicken does matter] oregano, garlic, lemon, and olive oil. Marinate for at least a couple of hours, and grill on whatever grill you have. I tend to make rather a lot of the Grecian chicken because after grilling it freezes incredibly well, meaning I can pull out the two or three pieces I need for a meal and can heat it up in the microwave) I live alone, so I have to plan ahead a lot of the time.
▪️Do you wear glasses? Reading glasses only these days. I was very nearsighted from a young age, and couldn't really see the blackboard in first grade. Got glasses, and after graduating high school got a job and bought myself contact lenses. This was back when they were somewhat exotic. Eventually I got the soft lenses, which were an improvement in terms of comfort, but over the years regular glasses didn't really work very well for me. The last time I bought glasses, sometime in the mid-90s, I paid $400 for a pair I could not see out of. By that time I needed bifocals, and when I went back to the optometrist, he said, "Oops. I should have indicated a slab-off on the prescription (meaning a separate piece of glass needed to be fused to make the distance and reading thing work) but didn't offer to pay for a new pair of glasses. I suppose I should have pushed him on that, but I didn't. Then, about six years ago I got cataract surgery which was, as I tell anyone who holds still to listen to me, that this was the very best thing that ever happened to my eyes. My vision is now very close to 20-20, and I feel as if I can read small signs on distant hills. Yes, I still need reading glasses but that's trivial. I wake up in the morning and I CAN SEE!!! I don't need to struggle to insert contacts and I doan't need to deal with tired eyes because I stayed up too late the night before. My old vision was so bad that most people who think they have poor vision, when I'd hand them my glasses (back when I still had glasses) would put them on and go, "OMG!!!" They felt as if they'd fallen off the edge of the earth. So anyway, now I can see marvelously and use reading glasses to read. I am so lucky.
▪️Favorite season- all of them, although if forced to choose I will only eliminate summer because I HATE hot weather. Lucky me, I live in Santa Fe, NM and summers here really are not that hot. And no humidity. A decade or so ago, when I realized a divorce was in my future, and decided I wanted to relocate from the Kansas City area, I decided I didn't want to live anywhere that I had to have a/c in the summer. And so, Santa Fe.
▪️Dream travel destination - I'm hoping to take a cruise to Hawaii. And I've decided I want to go to Portugal. And another trip to Australia. Maybe Easter Island

▪️Surgeries: 2. Both C-sections so in a way they don't count.

▪️Ridden in an ambulance: yes
▪️Sang karaoke: no. And the rest of the world should be very, very grateful. I often say that if I were to sing in a church choir, sensible people would conclude that God did not intend for us to sing.

▪️Skipped school: yes. Maybe once. I've always been one of those annoying good students.

▪️Favorite beverage: almost anything alcoholic. I love wine. I love beer. I make a mean gin and tonic. I love Grand Marnier on the rocks. Need I go on?
▪️Broken bones: Yes. Every few years I break something, although now it's been about six or seven years since the last break, so I'm way overdue. I did break a leg when I was 7 1/2 pregnant with my first child. That was an adventure.
▪️Received a ticket: Yes. But only when I was much younger. These days, I'm a senior citizen (70) and I live in New Mexico, where there is a wonderful respect for older women. Even though I'm Anglo, the rare times I get stopped I only get a warning, never a ticket, even though sometimes I do deserve one. The respect here for older women is astonishing and wonderful. I've learned not to be too chatty and friendly when in line at the grocery store, because if the people I'm chatting with in front of me are in their 20s, they will invariably invite me to go ahead of them. I try not to take advantage of my Older White Lady privilege. I also notice that here in NM many more people rush ahead of me to hold a door open, as compared to when (for example) I'm visiting family in Kansas. People in Kansas are quite nice, don't get me wrong, but they don't go out of their way to hold a door for me. Luckily, I'm relatively law abiding so I haven't tested the "I never get a ticket" thing there.
▪️Sunset or sunrise: Both are equal to me, but I'm usually sound asleep well past sunrise, so I don't get to enjoy that as much.
