Personally, I will never wear.
1. Stiletto Heels
2. Tube Top
3. Fanny Pack
Of course, at the top of my list is a MAGA hat. I would wear anything before I would wear that.
Anything that is not on the list that you won't wear?

I've never seen shag wall to wall carpet so lush. It was so deep, I don't know how the hell they vacuumed. It was amazing. The house was a showplace of harvest gold and burnt orange appliances, mirrored wallpaper, and crazy colors. It was that contemporary cabin style, so of course it had a spiral staircase and a catwalk. Yaaasss.
Alas, we decided to pass on it. Structurally, it was in great shape, and the price was low enough to leave plenty of room for updating, but there were issues with the well and septic. I was so bummed out. I totally would have kept that mirrored wallpaper up, lol!

(1,725 posts)I have never worn denim jeans or jackets in my life. I never liked the look, for a girl or woman, to wear what I considered male clothing. Yes, I'm a foo-foo and was raised on Ginger Rodgers movies and other feminine girls/women actresses. I love beautiful materials. Denim is boring and it's fine for males to wear it. But the real horror for me is the ripped jeans look. I'm probably the only woman on DU who feels like this. I don't mind being different. Each to their own.

Not much of a girly girl when it comes to clothing, but at least I haven't succumbed to sweat suits... yet. I mostly like cotton fabrics as I live in the desert, so it's breezy tops and lightweight Tees, walking shorts, capris and loose pants that breath, a few summery dresses that float with the breezes, everything to keep as cool as possible.

(66,316 posts)I was at the opera with my wife one night. I had just bought a nice white dinner jacket, and was taking it for a test drive. I wore standard black tie with it. I felt like Humphrey Bogart in 'Casablanca', or something.
Anyway, we were in the lobby at intermission, and Mrs. Aristus went off to the ladies room. I stood there just kind of idly looking at my phone, when I felt someone approaching me. I looked up and saw a gorgeous woman smiling at me. She said: "You're beautiful!"
I was a little taken aback by this, but managed to stammer out: "So are you!"
Just then, this little old lady came up to the younger woman and said: "What are you two doing, dear?"
"I was just telling this gentleman how nice he looked, Mother."
I laughed, and pointed at the younger woman, obviously the older lady's daughter. "Well she started it!"
"Ah, a mutual admiration society, eh?" The mother took my elbow and guided me aside and asked me: "Tell me, young man, are you staying for the rest of the opera?"
"Yes, ma'am. Most definitely."
She patted my arm. "Good".
Just then, the daughter kind of steered the mother away, flashed a dazzling smile at me over her shoulder, and walked off.
I still don't know entirely what that was all about, but I blessed my white dinner jacket for the opportunity for a nice moment.
Mrs. Aristus and I had a laugh about it when she got back from the ladies room.

(23,091 posts)Tall boots with 3 inch heels were my go to dancing shoes, as an example. I also wore scarves tied around me as tops with low cut bell bottom pants and looked good that way. Now, I have a large list -
no short shorts
nothing that shows my stomach or midriff, including bathing suits
No top with straps or bandeau top unless its worn with a sweater, crocheted type preferred for hot FL weather
no heels over 1-1/2 inches (bad back)
No pointy toe shoes
No socks with sandals ever - sorry that's just plain tacky to me
Nothing that fits close and shows bulges
yoga pants require tunics when worn outside the house
if its not flattering to my body, or is uncomfortable in any way, don't buy it regardless of how cute or how much I'd save - I won't wear it.
Must be a natural fiber or mostly natural fibers with coolness being the goal for the vast majority of the year

(4,604 posts)Had to wear them a handful of times (weddings and such) and it was awful. I have shoe issues, so am either barefoot or in flops 90% of the time, and birkenstock clogs in the winter.
Tapered pants/skinny jeans. They just look goofy on me. All the women in my family have shortish, muscular legs and the narrowing makes the legs look shorter and bigger.
Actually, I hate the tapered leg look on men, too. Only exceptions: Steven Tyler and hair bands, lol! The suits and tuxes at awards shows look silly with the skinny, tapered pants and it makes their feet/shoes look oversized. Will be happy when it finally goes out of style. Long live bootcut and straight leg!
Make up. Can't do it. I cannot stand having anything on my face, and even glasses are an issue. In fact, I don't like having stuff constantly touching my skin in general. I live in sundresses or skirts and tank tops with the built in bra the fewest number of garments possible to still be decent. Winter is tough because I have to put on pants, socks, and a cardigan. Ugh. Socks. Heck, I've had dentures for 6 or 7 years and rarely wear them (unless out) because I can't stand having them in my mouth.
Don't know if this aversion to clothes/shoes/anything on me is a type of neurosis or if I'm just weird? Probably just weird.
