I'm getting really tired of reading my frivolous posts.

(7,808 posts)I got called by "myself" 7 times in 2 hours yesterday. I never left a message.

(25,816 posts)I will say that when I get scam phone calls, they've never come from my own phone supposedly.
One problem I have is that my caller ID does not always correctly pick up the phone number/name of people who are personal friends, who call me regularly. The information will vary, and it's bizarre.
I sometimes answer phone calls from an unknown number, sometimes I don't. What really sets me off is when I answer (as I always do) by saying, "Hello, this is Poindexter," and there's a pause of about three seconds, and someone comes on the line and asks, "Is Poindexter Oglethorpe available?" I usually respond by saying, "You should have been listening when I answered the phone. I'm going to hang up now and you can call back. This time I suggest you listen to how I answer the phone." Even though I know exactly why this occurs, it pisses me off.
I was discussing this with a friend last night, and he said when he answers the phone, unless he can tell from caller ID it's a friend, he picks up the phone but doesn't say anything. Much of the time the call will click off, because the robo-calls are listening for a human voice. Otherwise, if it's a friend or a real person, they'll say, "Hello? Are you there Roger?" or whatever my friend's name might be.
The reason I don't let every single call go to my answering machine, is that it's amazing how often my caller ID has absolutely nothing. I have a friend I talk with on the phone nearly every single day, and I know around when to expect his call, if I haven't already called him.

(17,984 posts)or just the ability to project?

(14,488 posts)Although as an amateur, I've studied this type person to try and be at peace with them but I'm not there yet. The projecting is what they're paid handsomely to do, but one does have to wonder what their inner voices are saying.
I'm beginning to believe there's a migratory process in the USA where those having at least partial psychopathic genetics and amoral tendencies instinctively flock to Washington.
But, that still doesn't completely explain those like Sarah Huckabee and other Evangelicals who "by the Book" are supposed to care about the least among us.......

(13,985 posts)myself, I would advise you to forget about it, and own your frivolity. Wave it in a circular motion above your head.... maybe whoop a little. It helps more than you might know in helping many of us to remain at least passably sane.
It's becoming increasingly difficult to stomach the so-called real world.
So... thanks!

(17,984 posts)and they are just about as frivolous as my own. You don't realize how much it comforts me to know that there are other posters out there just as frivolous.

(7,565 posts)Okay, it's suppose to be freak flag, but what's wrong with frivolous flag?
We need humor more then ever with what's going on in the real world.
Cute graphic btw.

(17,984 posts)Do you ever look back at some of your posts and think, "Did I really say that?" That's why I tend to post a lot of pictures instead of words.
Niagara
(7,565 posts)It happens. TBH, my jaw has never darn near hit the floor while reading anything that you wrote.
Your posted pictures are always welcomed.
