Was born in Missouri and grew up in a small town in west central Illinois...along the Mississippi River. I also say crick instead of creek.

conversation about "anyways" - we laugh now, he says it on purpose any chance he gets...we are from Boston...

"Anyways" is like nails on a chalkboard, or a flashing red neon sign in print...I was reading an article yesterday, "anyways" was used, right now, I can't remember what the article was about..but I can see "anyways" flashing...the 18th, most honorable son will be 51..Happy Birthday...(I know he reads DU)

Never have, never will.

I *like* stories that wander off in many different directions. It doesn't bother me at all when people use "anyways" to pull a wandering story back to the main point.

Language is anarchy. It evolves. It flows around the fortresses of the grammarians. Eventually words written in stone are incorporated into the flowing waters or become sand.

I'm Wild West U.S.A..

My parents are artists who were working Hollywood day jobs when they met.
