The spacecraft from Lost in Space was more expensive than the Enterprise (TV)

That was because we saw all of the ship on Lost in Space, while we got only a portion of the Enterprise
The Lost in Space craft cost 350k to build.

I found this interesting

Was a much more elegant craft than the Enterprise. Unfortunately the series devolved as it went on. Loved little Johnny Williams original theme music.

I guess I always just assumed there was more to the Enterprise because of the spacecraft they showed in the beginning
Until I read that small article, I had never thought that we really only saw a very small portion of the Enterprise

You are correct, Jupiter 2 was an impressive and elegant ship

Everything I've ever read about Star Trek seems to make mention they had a very constrained budget. So this isn't a real surprise.

$350k? Back in the 60s? That's a HUGE amount.

Most of the Star Trek stories would have held up on a public high school stage, all cardboard and paint.

Lost in Space, not at all.

... Amazing sets! Full size Chariot. The Robot! I love this remake... The production values are outstanding. Plus, Parker Posey as Dr. Smith!!

I did hear about this remake (reboot??)...but after that disastrous movie in 1998 I was really turned off by the attempts to get this going again.

I love the series.

I kinda liked the movie but only for nostalgia reasons.

Same thing for the Speed Racer movie.
