7. Yeah, that one caught my eye. I love red. But I couldn't possibly pick only ONE color.

I love 'em all. The aqua blue/turqoise ones also caught my eye.

My Mom was born in eastern Europe and loved to color and decorate easter eggs. Before coloring she would use hot wax, pin and the end of a pencil eraser to make designs. Then dye the egg. After the color job she would take a warm cloth and remove the wax to reveal the color under neath. We would do this all weekend. Great fun for a little kid. AND the egg salad samiches afterwards.. Good times..

That was so fun. All the beautiful eggs in all the colors of the rainbow...hot pink, turqoise, reddish, purple, aqua, lavender, yellow, green....

Mom would make potato salad with some of the eggs after Easter. The dye would get into the potato salad from the eggs sometimes. The salad would have little blotches of blue or pink sometimes. LOL. We didn't mind.

What I thought was interesting was that the pin's head would make a large dot and then if you moved the pin, it would make a line. Fat at one end and taper down to a fine line. Mom got very intricate with her designs. Mostly triangles to make borders. I like the crayon idea as the pin would only make straight lines.

But I must admit...I was into creativity with mine, and not so much the "art" of it. My sisters were the artists. You could identify THEIR eggs. Oh, well. We can't all be Picasso. But mine were creative!

My kiddo turns 14 in a couple weeks and told me he was ready to let it go. I should’ve done it anyway...it’s just fun. I like that dark purple egg in the top basket.
