I've read some recent comments/reviews on this new season 8 that the cinematography is so dark you can barely make out what's going on. Is this true for all the seasons? I've been thinking of trying it out, but not if I can't make out what's going on.

True, the epic battle that was just shown this last Sunday was filmed in a way that made it difficult to follow, but in general, most of the series is easy to see and follow. Definitely give it a go. Great acting and story.
