I don't take a back-seat to very many people in pun-ditry, but Pinboy was THE pun-king champion! I had a few raging pun-battles with him, but I always knew I was out-punned and out-classed! He was the genius that made the door-buzzard thread the funniest thing I ever read on the Internet!

(42,770 posts)Shortly after election night in 2004, We all were upset and astounded that Kerry could have lost Florida. Impossible. Kerry was ahead in pre-election poll. Something is seriously fishy.
Tinfoilhat had downloaded all the Florida precinct data along with Gore numbers from 2000. She found a connection, an anomoly. Bush, in 2004, had mysteriously "won" by close to the exact #s/margins Gore achieved in 2000 like it was planned. IOW..it was rigged and they thought if they used Gore margins, it would not be questioned.
The last I heard of tinfoilhat was that night, shortly after election. She told us she was gonna stay up late and crunch more #s.
I never heard from.her again nor saw a post here again.
Turin_C3PO
(13,974 posts)I wonder what happened to her?
Laura PourMeADrink
(42,770 posts)who posted every hour, who was SO much a part of the effort here to make sense of it all, who was on the verge of discovering a questionable pattern in the Florida election results just happen to keel over that night?
I wrote often about it then, and then like once, maybe 4-5 years later. When I did, within, I swear 2 minutes, someone responded...dissing it all and saying that they saw tinfoilhat's post the next day after I thought she had disappeared. (False) How in the world would someone who knew all about it suddenly see my post and respond so quickly? And why so adamant about it???
One of the greatest fishy moments in my life!!

She had some very bizarre threads especially over video games which she didn't know much about what she was railing against.
I never alerted on her I only alert on obvious RW talking points or racism including dog whistle kind of posts but I wasn't surprised she turned up FFR.
Laura PourMeADrink
(42,770 posts)window of time. Guess between election of 2004 and when the electors met. When we thought something would happen to swing to Kerry.
Kerry had been up in pre-election Florida polls and bush "won" -- want to say by 4%? Too much of swing since voters said they decided long before election. When someone named TIA was really involved. Who knows, maybe it was all BS. But she definitely was cranking #s out.

I've been here since Aug 6, 2007.
Short version of the story: Hard drive crashed in 2013, wiped out everything, had no backups. Didn't remember the email account I used to sign up for DU so I wasn't in a position to ask the Admins to retrieve or reset my password. I tried to remember my login email but couldn't....had to make a new name with incorrect spelling, and create a new account. Lot's of people I remember do not seem to be here anymore. There used to be a page where you could see all of the users names and profiles. I don't seem to see it anymore. Did it go away?
