of watching the rescued babies at Sheldrick drink their milk, run and play in the mud and leave their fright and sadness behind as they lived day and night with great caregivers and other elephants. They became close friends with other babies, grew big enough to be with older groups and finally to stay with elephant families in the protected national park outside Sheldrick.
My dear grandaughter who was living in Nairobi adopted one of the babies for me and I received beautiful accounts every month as she progressed; then I would have letters and pictures of a new baby who had been rescued. They do an awesome job at Sheldrick not only of rescue but of getting the elephants back into the wild with a new family with donations from people like my granddaughter all over the world who care.

Ndotto, Lasayen, Malima, Luggard, and Larro, as well as blind rhino Maxwell. My dream is to go there one day. Ndotto, Lasayen, and Malima have all graduated to Voi (Ndotto & Lasayen) and Ithumba {Malima) Reintegration Centers--they grow up so fast, lol.

Not all heroes wear capes--sometimes they wear long green coats.
