Friday Night Red Wine Buzz. Ask me anything.

Man, what a hella week. As usual when we get a new clinic manager, our new guy wants to make a name for himself by increasing the productivity of his clinics.

No manager has ever figured out how to to that in an effective way short of magically making everyone in the community sick.

I heard he's actually going out on the streets and buttonholing people to tell them aobut the clinic. "They get you whatever you need!"

Which makes us sound like a pill-mill.

Asshole.

I should probably give him a list of the names of the clinic managers I've outlasted in nine years of practice. I wouldn't give him long odds for a lengthy tenure as manager.

Anyway, I need a fucking drink...

I love you all...

What is the Red Wine you are drinking?

We had a series of managers of very questionable competence. We had a saying, "there is no manager so bad we can't out wait them." The average stay for a manager was less than a year while the senior folks in the engineering office had between 15 and 8 years. I drank a lot in those days.

Cheers!

I don't drink Merlot much anymore. Shiraz is a lot spicer. And their Cabernet has more body and a better finish.

But I thought I'd give it a try after several years without. It's okay. Probably back to the Cab on the next bottle...

The clinic manager thinks he's the coach of the team.

I need to tell him he's not the coach; he's the equipment manager. His job is to give us what we need and then stay out of our way.

Puerto Rican.

He's a former cop, so he really thinks he's the shit. He's decided to take a disliking to my assistant. He's making life so hard for her, she had to file a grievance with the union. If she quits because of his jackholing, then I'm quitting too. And he can explain to upper management how he managed to lose one of his most productive providers.

A would've been a measuring cup.

I feel like I hardly know you...

You know, a lot of vintners are coming around to the idea of wine in a box. There's less oxidation, and it's more environmently friendly. So, no shame. Get wine in a box, if you want to...

My son loaded the dish washer last week and put three of them in it.

I didn't realize it until the cycle was over, but they didn't melt!

And they fit so much better than wine glasses...lol

SweetWater 'Blue' brew. Essence of blueberry. It pairs well with PANCAKES!

Ended up giving the 6 pack to our priest who helped me roll out the gigantic trash cans for collection the next day.

I need a pivo drinking pahdner.

No, not him!!

Try that if occasion arises.

We get some mainstream patients sometimes; spillover from our mainstream clinic a couple of blocks away.

Our clinic system is a private not-for-profit, but most of the people in upper administration get pretty tasty salaries. They're always pushing us to see more, more, more patients.

I'm not a fan of large numbers of patient encounters. The more patients on the schedule, the less time I have to spend with each one. That's not how to do good quality clinical medicine.
