Once one of my hamsters was cruising around on the floor and encountered a good-sized cork. He gave it a nibble, decided it might be a good snack for later, and promptly pouched it. For the rest of the day, he roamed around with the outline of the cork clearly visible and nearly the size of his head. Eventually, he figured out that it was too tough for late-night snackies and spat it out.
