Creepy 40 something hitting on my teen daughter while we were selling at a local swap meet

The day was great, good crowd, we were unloading treasures we found while cleaning out our garage. Lots of young guys stopping by to chat with my girl, no harm, she is a stand out beauty, they were harmless and kids love to flirt. Then creepy McFuckCreep strolls up, he begins asking about perfume we have, I worked for Estee Lauder for years and had plenty of nice fragrances to sell. I was engaged selling some jeans but I had my eye on him, after my sale was completed I wander to the side of the table where he is engaging in a conversation with my daughter.

He was asking about a particular fragrance, top notes etc. I say "hi, well this one is woody, mildly amber, and the perfect scent for fall." The fucker barely glances at me and says in a condescending tone "I'd rather talk to her." I see then that she has his business card in her hand, black, nice paper, unusual size. I ask for the card from her and say "hi Tyler." He repeats " I'd rather talk to her." I ask my daughter to please go get me a cup of coffee. At that point he is no longer interested in talking fragrance top notes.

So it appears the conversation is over. he starts to walk away from the table saying "you don't have anything that interests me." I reply "yeah, I think I do, but here take your card back, I have your phone number memorized." Then I handed him his card that I had ripped into pieces.

We googled him tonight, he is a 48 year old real estate agent in our town. Seriously, WTF?

I'd say you were correct that he was checking out your daughter.

And what a creep! To be so open about it is pretty brazen in my book.

Yuck.

Good to see dad is on the lookout.

It's just Trump and a few others setting a bad example.
Encouraging the lowlife.

Be on your guard!

Trafficked kids may not have physically and emotionally healthy parents in the picture to help protect them. I have read that the woman who recently came forward about her abuse at Epstein’s hands had lost her father a few years prior to being recruited by Epstein’s associate. However, another victim worked at Mar-a-Lago. She got her job in the locker room because her father worked there, too. She was recruited there by an Epstein partner.

I’m not condemning the parents. I’m certain most of the parents of these girls are devastated. But the concept of underage girls spending time with Epstein and traveling with him in his plane to foreign countries and distant islands does seem really odd. In no way is Epstein exonerated because the parents didn’t monitor their children. I find it hard to believe parents weren’t suspicious. This anecdote reinforces that.

Kids with drug problems and a dysfunctional home environment were easy pickings for him and his team of recruiters.

Often these parents were themselves abused as children, or were "mentored" by older men (sometimes women) as teens and young adults. They'll see this as an "opportunity" to get ahead in the world.

It's why so many child television and movie stars are dysfunctional as adults.

It's not just Hollywood. Every industry has sexual predators like that.

Usually they are not that brazen. Most are the guy next store type or the pastor type. When I was a young girl it was a neighbor and I had to field one or two when my girls were growing up. Good job.

Why do these types always go for the young ones, the unguarded ones, the ones from a damaged background and not ones of their own age?

Because they rely on innocence, ones of their own age can see them coming a mile off and don't play nice with the creeps.

When I asked her to get coffee she said "sure thing *****." I knew she had completely read the situation. At 5-10 and 145 lbs, I have no doubt she was thinking of kicking the shit weasel in the balls.

I don't think he figured out that you were her mother, and instead thought you wanted him to put the moves on you.

Good on both you and her for getting rid of him. And great code word system!

Glad you showed her how to deal with predators-- do NOT worry about their feelings.
They don't, after all, care about anyone else's feelings.
