I don't think I ever saw anything quite that hideous. Leisure suits were pretty close, though.

The one to the right is the same style, that my a husband (but still a dear friend) wore while we were dating and for our wedding. I always thought it was a very flattering look on him.

That would not have been right for Woodstock.
I guess there were a lot of style changes between 1969 and the 1970s.

I always roast my dad's wedding picture cause he was wearing a powder blue suit with dark blue accents, and a frilly button-down shirt. I love ya dad, but god-damn what were you thinking

Were fashion shorts really a thing? I don't remember men dressing like this back then. The dude in the brown shoes looks so embarrassed.

... worked in a suit-and-tie environment, but he had good taste. Lol. No leisure suits or big collars, and certainly no shorts on casual Fridays. Of course, there was lots of polyester; you couldn't escape it.

Not even with a gun to my head.

But seriously, no one wears short-sleeved shirts with a tie. It's beyond gauche even. And don't get me started on those short shorts. Those effin' things are dangerously close to Daisy Dukes territory.

I certainly wouldn't have been caught dead in them, then or now. The rest of the outfit is typical '70s gear. I had a tie much like the brown one (minus the larger squares).

thought would be trendy. This is capitalism’s first attempt to co-opt and shape the counterculture. They’ve become slightly more sophisticated since. But not much.

The belts are 1-1/2" wide, not metric, so that narrows it down. You wouldn't be able to get any use out of these clothes in Canada. Bermuda?

Plaid Stallions runs ads like this one all the time.

Look at the waist sizes. They go down to 27". I dream of finding stacked shoes like that pair. Any pair of shoes with that much lift is in Donald Trump's closet.
