Today settled it my cat is weird
First in the past year and a half there has been a uptick in creatures in my house.
Bats, mice, small rats, birds sometimes alive when never had the problem before sometimes dead sometimes laid out in parts in what looks like a strange ritual paying homage to the television. This is possibly because I have seen her she watch Law & Order SVU. Anyhow in the past week or so I have been finding dead earthworms on my back deck puzzling the ability of these worms getting on to my deck has been interesting as I live in a split level home the deck is pretty high up. This morning I found a very large half alive earthworm on the floor near the spot she likes to leave her dead catches. I have never heard of a cat “catching earthworms (night crawlers?). I am astounded. Now if I could just train her to gather these new catches instead of the others on a schedule that works for me I could possibly rent her out to a fisherman. 😊

12. Maybe a bit extra weird.
Or maybe just lazy - worms are a lot easier to catch than mice.

2. She's bringing you breakfast. I had a cat who did that for me. Initially he did as mama cats do,
bringing me live prey to teach me to hunt. When he finally realized that I was not going to learn, he just started hunting for me, leaving a dead offering on my porch most days. He was providing for me, you see, since I couldn't seem to learn to hunt for myself.

11. And works don't move so fast. Why would a cat even be interested?

4. Another reason to keep cats indoors.
I know the joys of walking barefoot down a dimly lit hall at the crack of dawn and stepping on warm gopher guts squishing up between my toes. The countless times I was presented with mauled corpses of mice and squirrels ceremoniously laid on my pillow.
But then the cat got really sick from her forays into wild cuisine and she nearly died. After that we removed her cat door and ended her smorgasbord sojourns afield. She was determined to go back to her nightlife safari romps, but we got her a bunch of new toys and playtime become a good substitute. Ever since then I keep my kitties indoors and they are content to watch the bird TV and their own little aquarium. They are safe, healthy and happy, and the little outdoor beasties are relieved. |

9. Yes I would but hubby insists on sort door do his dog can go in and out at will
For me I don’t like it much handy at times but.
Interesting this cat hated coming inside since she was a small kitten wouldn’t go further then her nose in the door opening until we installed the pet door I think that made her not feel trapped I guess. I am working on hubby at least at night to close it up she can hunt outside and leave her gifts on the deck. Or become a in the house at night cat like the old kitty we have who was very similar did not like coming in very afraid of most people but then one winter he got old I guess and the warmth of the beds on the house called his name and now he sleeps on our feet at night if the weather is good he is gone in the morning if the weather is bad he stays on the bed most all day. I guess that fits Velveteen Ocelot’s post that all cats are weird.😊 |

10. Is that it?
Hmmm I try and feed her favorite the soft cat food at night to keep her from night hunts. You maybe correct I think if I miss it and she just has her dry food this happens I will have to watch this and see.
Thanks for the inspiration. |
