Mine is US 395 between Mount Vernon, Oregon at the southern end and Pendleton, Oregon at the northern end. I drove this route with my Dad when I was 13 years old (at night) and a few times as an adult during daylight, doing my own driving. The 2-lane highway crosses the Umatilla National Forest in the Blue Mountains and I've got lots of good memories there.

(14,118 posts)Both my parents are Montana natives and I've lived in the area as child and adult. Breathtaking!
Here in New Mexico I was surprised to find that the continental divide between Grants and
Ramah (driving on State 53) is actually higher in elevation than Logan Pass (but without the majestic scenery). Go figure!

My husband's 1st cousin lives on Flathead Lake, so visiting there is also on my bucket list.

So many great stop to see and many great place to overnight for a day or two. It's a bit of a hairy drive though, I would really love to travel it as a passenger.
