Her name was Peg Phillips, and she played Cicely general store owner Ruth Ann Miller. Peg Phillips died about 10 years ago.

Kathryn Joosten's other big role was on 'Desperate Housewives' which just ended its run about 3 weeks ago. I didn't know until I read her obit that they wrote her character's cancer story line into the program because she was fighting it in real life.
